Exploring the Identity of a Street

This project investigates the identity of a street in Dubai, a quickly developing city in the Middle East. Al Diyafah Road is known for its multicultural flavor, where one is exposed to a diversity of images and sounds. Walking along the sidewalk becomes a series of flash-like events that bleed and interact with each other. Fragmentation, intervention and language are but a few examples of the elements explored within the work. Using the three given structures - a 50 page book, an A1 poster and a 20 second animation, I explored the interaction of visual elements colliding, joining and separating from each other to express what I saw as the identity of the street.
