A Little About Me

​

So, why did I choose design as my profession and infused it as a part of my identity, you may wonder? The answer is because I have loved art, communication, and visual/verbal literacy from the first time i was introduced to drawing at the age of two.

​

Design is an experience not a job. It requires a certain amount of dedication and observation as well as exposure to many cultures. Fortunately, I have travelled almost all my life and worked as a design communicator and illustrator in Dublin, Ireland; different parts of the USA; Abu Dhabi & Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; and Cairo, Egypt.

I work well with in a team environment and on my own, where design strategy, conceptual thinking and design theory help me understand, observe and analyze the particular project at hand. I have a Master of Arts degree in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA and a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communications from The American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Combining Rhetoric and Design was an important element to add to my knowledge base for how can you design if you are not trained in writing and analysis of both design, situation, and text?
